Printer Not Responding

Disconnect the lines to the computer and to the electrical outlet, and reconnect them. Try again with a test print.
If this did not fix the problem you will need to reinstall your printer onto windows. Here's how; (you will need a Windows 95 or 98 CD)
- Click on the start button
- Go to the Settings menu and then click the item that says Printers.
- If you have ever had this printer installed correctly on Windows then you should see an icon listed in the window that pops up that has your printer type as its (the icon's) title. If you do not, that's fine.
- Double click on the icon that says Add New Printer.
- Go through the install Wizard making sure that you choose a local printer (meaning that it connects directly to the back of your computer), and that you choose the correct printer by first selecting the manufacturer of your printer (usually both the manufacturer's name and the model No. are printed somewhere on the printer) on the left side of the window and then the exact model on the right side.
- If your exact model is not listed then you must use a disk containing the print driver for your particular printer. Usually, if you buy a new printer they come with disks with drivers on them. If you do not have a disk with this driver on it AND your printer is not listed in the window anywhere, please call the 713 776 2100
- Once you have chosen your printer from the list, push next and then insert your Windows 95 or 98 CD when prompted. If you personally do not have a Windows 95 or 98 CD but are running it on your computer, try to locate one that you can use.
If this too does not fix the problem, you may want to check and see if the printer itself is having a problem. Take the printer and cable and connect it to a different outlet and a different computer. Install the printer on that computer and check to see if it works there.
If your printer prints at the other computer then call the 713 776 2100 for further troubleshooting on your machine.
If your printer does not print on either of the computers, and you are sure that it has been installed correctly on both of the computers then your printer has an internal error and will need to be repaired or replaced.
